Daniel L. Hessek Sr., 62, of Long Pond, and formerly of Towaco, NJ died Thursday, April 10 in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.

He was the husband of Laura (Geddes) Hessek. They had observed their 32nd wedding anniversary in March.

Born in Denville, NJ he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Lezak) Hessek. He had lived in Towaco, NJ for eight years before moving to Long Pond twenty six years ago.

He had worked as a machine operator for Custom Laminating in Mt. Bethel for four years and previously he had worked for Lamtec in Mt. Bethel for twenty four years.

A US Navy veteran, he was a Navy firefighter during the Viet Nam War.

He loved his motorcycle and he was a member of the Harley Owners Group - Pocono Chapter. Daniel also love glass etching. bowling and especially spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Megan Grulkowski of Baltimore, MD; four sons, Daniel Hessek Jr. of Pocono Summit, Christopher Hessek of Mt. Pocono and Steven and Timothy Hessek, both of Tobyhanna; two brothers, Joseph Hessek in Georgia and Robert Hessek of Selinsgrove; a sister, Dorothy Bartek of Denville, NJ and five grandchildren, Steven, Aidan, Autumn, Parker, and Adelyn.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
