Obituary for Arloene M. Magaraci (Farnham)

Arloene M. Magaraci (Farnham)
Arloene M. Magaraci, 83, of Effort, PA and formerly of West Milford, NJ died Tuesday, June 24 in the Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort.
Arloene was predeceased by her husband of 32 years Joseph J. Magaraci and two grandsons. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Praino of Hixson, TN and her husband Edward; Christine Starick of Effort and her husband William; two sons, Michael J. Magaraci of Hamburg, NJ and Joseph J. Magaraci Jr. of Montague, NJ; eight grandchildren, Robin, Katie, Cory, Jesse, Shaun, Amanda, Cindy and Joseph; and six great grandchildren, Nathan, Isabella, Adrianna, Logan, Jacob and Lily.
Born and raised in New York City, she was the only child of the late Forest and Mabel (Foley) Farnham. She had lived in West Milford for thirty eight years before moving to PA in 2007 with her daughter. Arloene was an excellent student, graduating from Julia Richmond High School, an all-girls school, at 16 years old. She was in what was known as “The Country Club” for the smarter ones! The caption under her senior picture reads “Inside of school quiet and demure, outside of school we can’t be too sure”. Arloene’s first job was at Babcock & Wilcox, NYC and she later worked at CBS Broadcasting, NYC as a typist. Always a looker and sharp dresser, Arloene dreamed of going to Paris to be a buyer as a young woman. After marriage and four children, Arloene got her real estate agent and broker license in 1977. She worked at various real estate offices, the last being Century 21 Preferred in Butler, NJ, retiring in 1999.
Arloene was an avid bowler from 1958 to 1991. She was in many leagues, the last 10 years with her daughters, they were a team! She also loved to shop and passed the addiction on to two of her grandchildren. Arloene could also cut quite a rug, loved to dance in the earlier years!
Arloene was an independent, strong and sharp witted woman. Forever her Daddy’s Sweetheart, her adoring husband Joe’s Honey and treasured Mommy and Grandma to her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 30 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, PA with Rev. David Felker officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, c/o Christine Starick, 3213 Woodcrest Ave., Effort, PA 18330
