Joan E. Shick, 77, of Effort and formerly of East Stroudsburg, died Thursday, September 11 in the Brookmont Health Care Center.

She was the wife of the late Timothy H. Shick.

Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Myrtle (Singer) Flowers.

She was a member of the Reeders United Methodist Church.

Joan is survived by a son, Tim Shick and his wife Darlene of East Stroudsburg; two brothers, Robert Flowers in FL and Dean Flowers of Brodheadsville; a sister, Lorie Shick of Stroudsburg; two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Shick, a sister, Eleanor Mackes and by two brothers, Reginald and Carl Flowers.

No services are planned at this time. Interment will take place in the Tannersville Union Cemetery.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
