Obituary for Herman H. Green

Herman H. Green, 80, of Sciota, died Friday, September 19 in his home.

Born in Kresgeville, he was a son of the late Harry and Olive (Strohl) Green.

A graduate of East Mauch Chunk High School, Herman served in the United States Army for 24 years attaining the rank of Sergeant. After retiring from the Army he worked at both the Tobyhanna Army Depot and the Fort Monmouth, NJ Army Depot. He was a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert.

He was also a member of the Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Co. #23 in Saylorsburg and the Hillbilly Club Clan 119. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners. He was also a past president of the Western Pocono Lions Club.

Herman is survived by five sons, Barry Ronald Green in TX, Bruce David Green of Jim Thorpe, Kevin John Green of Jim Thorpe, Kaylon Green in FL and Brian Green in MA; a daughter, Julie Ann Ahn of Lansford; two brothers, Robert Green of Palmerton and Roger Green of Saylorsburg; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and his companion, Mary Jane Lucrezi. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clark, Carl and Thomas Green.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 27 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. James Mills officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM with American Legion services at 7:30 PM.
