Peter S. Ferrera, 85, of Brodheadsville and formerly of South Beach, Staten Island, NY died Monday, December 8 in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.

He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Rincione) Ferrera.

Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Anna (Gangi) Ferrera.

Peter had worked as a book binder for various companies in NY and NJ for twenty four years before retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert and the Chestnuthill Senior Citizens in Brodheadsville. He loved to walk and he greatly enjoyed puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a US Army veteran.

Surviving are two daughters, Anne Hnatowicz of Brodheadsville and Rosalie DeMeo of Thornhurst and five grandchildren, Steven, Christine, Thomas, Matthew and Nicole.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 12 from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Quinnan as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 to 10:15 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville.
