Doris B. Thacker, 84, of Effort, died Wednesday, January 7 in her home.

She was the wife of the late Ivor Thacker.

Born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Alec and Sarah (McGuire) Finn.

She worked as a clerical officer in the UK before marrying Ivor in 1958 and emigrating to the US.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Doris is survived by a sister, Pat Davies in England and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 14 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Sean Carpenter officiating. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
