Cora Alice Borger, 89, of Mechanicsburg, died Tuesday, January 20 in Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg.

She was the wife of the late Rev. Carl A. Borger who passed away in 2007.

Born in Fern Ridge, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Gertrude (Serfass) Brong.

She was a 1943 graduate of Chestnuthill High School and a 1946 graduate of the Palmerton School of Nursing. She worked as an R.N. at Palmerton Hospital for several years.

She is survived by a son, Mark C. Borger of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Susan DeCarlo in NJ; a brother, Keith Brong of New Freedom and three grandchildren, Erika, Grace and Adele.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 27 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Ann Melot officiating. Burial will be in Towamensing Cemetery, Palmerton. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
