Obituary for Roderick E. "Rod" Burnett

Roderick E. "Rod"  Burnett
Roderick E. Burnett, 87, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, March 11 in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.

He was the husband of the late Barbara Jean (Hager) Burnett.

Born in Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late Ellery R. and Alice (Rowell) Burnett.

Rod was a missionary for about fifty years before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Pocono Evangelical Free Church in Stroudsburg.

He was a US Navy veteran and a member of Hi-B.A., a missionary organization.

He is survived by two daughters, Katheryn Alice Meyer and her husband Jim of Bangor and Bette Jean Lowe and her husband Bobby of Hurlock, MD; a brother, Richard Burnett and his wife Betty in NC; two sisters, Jeanne Hagerman in VA and Judy Sanderson and her husband Donald in NJ; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, March 20 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville with Rev. Jim Meyer officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM and again after the service until 9:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 AM at Woodbury Memorial Park, 320 Kings Highway, Clarksboro, NJ.
