Obituary for Gladys E. Borger (Kresge)

Gladys E. Borger, 90, of Kunkletown, died Tuesday March 17 in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late Elmer D. Borger.

Born in Kunkletown, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Mabel (Smith) Kresge.

She worked in numerous blouse factories, retiring from DeVille Blouse Factory in Kunkletown. She was a member of St. Matthew's United Church of Christ in Kunkletown and the Laymen's Fellowship at St. Matthew's. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company.

She is survived by a daughter, Marlene Long and her husband Robert of Kunkletown; a son, David "Charley/Tuna" Borger of Kunkletown; a grandson, Jeffrey Long and his wife Bethany of Kunkletown; a granddaughter, Melanie Long of Kunkletown; a great grandson, Connor Long; a brother, Gerald Kresge and his wife Bonney of Palmerton; sisters-in-law, Nancy Kresge and Arlene Kresge of Palmerton; brother-in-law, Leon Borger of Palmerton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Luther Kleintop, Kenneth Kresge, Carl Kresge and Maurice Kresge and sister Doris Borger.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, 102 Church Road, Kunkletown with Rev/ Suzanne Brooks-Cope officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service from the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, P>O. Box 357, Kunkletown, PA 18058 or to St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, 102 Church Road, Kunkletown, PA 18058.
