LaRue E. Youngkin, 91, of Kresgeville died Saturday, July 25 in Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton.

She was the wife of the late Samuel D. Youngkin.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Silas C. and Ida J. (Stemler) Serfass.

She was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Trachsville where she taught Sunday School for over thirty years. She was also a member of the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.

LaRue was an ardent and wonderful homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Larry and Douglas Youngkin, both of Kresgeville; a sister, Doris Hart and her husband Henry of Hershey and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert and Sterling Serfass and by a sister, Valeria Solt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 30 from Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Brian Holben officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service from the church.
