Obituary for Carl A. Davidson

Carl A. Davidson, 76, of Kunkletown passed away on Wednesday, July 29 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.

He was the husband of Dorothy (Burger) Davidson. They would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 1.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Allen and Winnie (Youngkin) Davidson.

A 1956 graduate of Polk Township High School, Carl had been a contractor for 50 years, owning and operating Davidson Construction. He also operated a saw mill part- time and he was a part-time farmer. Carl did a lot of remodeling and building of new homes in the area including the remodeling of some area schools, Brookmont Health Care Center and Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehab Center.

An avid outdoorsman, Carl led a very active life. He also spent many hours with his grandchildren.

He had been a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert and had served on the church council for many years. He belonged to the West End Fair Assn. in Gilbert since 1964 and was a Fair Director since 1968, serving on numerous committees and heading up the Building and Grounds Committee. He was a member of the Grundsow Lodge #10 and was the treasurer for seventeen years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carla Davidson and her husband Allen of Kunkletown and Susan Hennet and her husband Charles of Kunkletown; five granddaughters, Jennelle, Kayla, Lauryn, Samara and Sonya and three great grandchildren, Brody, Conar and Sophia.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Trachsville.
