Obituary for Mae Ellen Hagerty (Buskirk)

Mae Ellen Hagerty, 66, of Jackson Township, died Saturday, September 5 in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.

She was the wife of Terry A. Hagerty. They would have observed their 41st wedding anniversary on September 28.

Born in Reeders, she was a daughter of the late Charles C. Buskirk and the late Alice (Slutter) Buskirk Pashinski.

Mae was a cook at the Snydersville Diner for twenty six years. She just retired last week.

She was an avid bingo player and loved chinese auctions, tricky trays and scratch -off lottery tickets. She was an assistant 4H leader for the Happy Helpers for ten years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Edward Charles Transue and his wife Shel of Saylorsburg, Ronald K. Transue and his wife Ruthann of Jackson Township and Scott Olen Hagerty and his wife Donna of Albrightsville; a sister, Sally A. Hadsall and her husband Gary of Gilbert; eight grandchildren, Christine, Renee, Roni, Ronald K. Jr., Hunter, Caden, Rocco and Amber and two great grandchildren, Maliah and Braden. She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Keith Transue in 1967 and by a half-sister, Betty Gloria Buddenhagen in 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 10 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Brett Jenkins officiating. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
