Mary Ann Byrne, 72, of Effort, PA and formerly of Staten Island, NY died Sunday, September 20 in HCR Manor Care - Easton.

Born and raised in Staten Island in the town of New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Julian and Charlotte (Maciejewski) Bolewicz. She attended St. Peter's High School for Girls.

Her first job was working for the Office of Economic Opportunity. She married Owen Byrne in 1967 and re-entered the work force in 2010 working for Kerr Steamship and then United Arab Shipping Co. until her retirement. She retired to Effort, PA.

She is survived by her daughter Laura and sons Owen and Sean and his wife Norma as well as her grandchildren, Casmira, Juliet, Adam and Valerie.

Mary Ann loved spending time with her family, watching and reading about Silent Movies and researching her family history.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation will take place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
