Obituary for Mark A. Berger

Mark A. Berger, 41, of Albrightsville, died Tuesday, May 10 in Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton.

He was the husband of Jillian (Griffith) Berger. They would have observed their 13th wedding anniversary on June 14.

Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Howard W. "Chubby" Berger and the late Darlene (Hollahan) Berger.

He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for the PA Turnpike for six years and prior to that he had worked with his brother Barry in the masonry business, Berger Masonry, for twenty years.

Mark was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albrightsville and the Albrightsville Fire Co. Mark could do almost anything and was so many things to so many people.

The rock of the family Mark was a loving husband to Jill and an amazing father to his two children, Rhiannon Reed Berger and Dominic Howard Berger. He is also survived by two brothers, Barry Berger of Albrightsville and William Berger and his wife Jackie of Jim Thorpe; a niece, Brooke Berger; his mother-in-law and father-in law, Bill and Gina Griffith and sisters-in-law, Celena Griffith and Holly Griffith. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Justin Berger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 16 from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albrightsville with Rev. Bill Dearin officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, c/o of Jillian Berger, 1249 N. Old Stage Road, Albrightsville, PA 18210 for the purpose of setting up a college fund for Mark's children.
