Mary Ann  Gordon (Van Horn)
Mary Ann (Van Horn) Gordon, 74, of Brodheadsville died Wednesday, May 25 at home with her beloved husband, best friend, caretaker and soulmate, Joseph Gordon at her side.

Mary Ann was born on August 30, 1941, the daughter of the late William J. and Geraldine (Cavanaugh) Van Horn.

She was a retired devoted housewife after working as property manager at the Edgewood at Countryside apartments. In her younger years she was a PIAA umpire, bartender/waitress, served as leader for the local T.O.P.S. Group of Brodheadsville, foster parent, babysitter and house cleaner.

She loved to cook, can, bake, fish, shop and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Joseph C. Gordon of Brodheadsville; two daughters, Kathy Schindler and her husband George of Tobyhanna and Tracey Roeder and her companion, Nicholas Milazzo of Effort; two sons, Christopher Schroder of Jonas and Timothy Schroder and his wife Lana of Brodheadsville; a sister, Madge Everett and her husband Sam of Reeders; a brother, Gerald Simancek of Gouldsboro; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Simancek of FL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
