Iolanda Sarnelli, 97, of Brodheadsville, died on Sunday, Dec. 18 in Pocono Medical Center.

She was the wife of the late Micehele Sarnelli.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maddalena (Taranto) Celentano.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

Iolanda is survived by two sons, Gaetano Sarnelli of Albrightsville, Giuseppe Sarnelli and wife Sally of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter Rosanna Franzese and husband Francesco of Brodheadsville; a sister Italia Celentano of Italy; eight grandchildren, Yolanda, Marissa, Michael, Alessandra, Gianpaolo, Franky, Felice, and Carmelina; four great grandchildren, Kayla, Joshua, Gaetano, and Gianluca.

A Mass of Christian Burial with be celebrated on Thursday, Dec 22 at 11:00 AM from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with Rev. Michael Quinnan as celebrant. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Dec 21 from 2:00- 4:00 PM and 7:00- 9:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville.
