Obituary for Joyce Marie Pfancook (Barry)

Joyce Marie  Pfancook (Barry)
Joyce Marie (Barry) Pfancook, 84, of Kunkletown, passed away on Sunday, April 23 in her home.

She was the wife of the late James Edwin Pfancook Jr.

Born in Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Mildred (Schaffer) Barry.

Joyce had worked as a salesperson at Jamesway in Gilbert for four years before retiring and previously she had worked as a seamstress at Lee's Fashions in Kunkletown and at Nova Sportswear in Brodheadsville for over twenty years.

Joyce had done volunteer work at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home in Kunkletown but she really lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved babysitting them.

She is survived by three sons, Norman Pfancook and his wife Carol of Morrisville, James Pfancook III and his wife Brenda of Palmerton and Chris Pfancook and his wife April of Kunkletown; three daughters, Bonnie Snyder and her husband Henry of Kunkletown, Yvonne Peters and her husband Robert of Freidens and Brenda Gouger and her husband Donald of Palmerton; a brother, Lawrence Barry and his wife Tillie of Wapwallopen; a sister, Pat Vopel of Stroudsburg; a sister-in-law, Pauline O'Toole in NJ; fifteen grandchildren, Jeremy, Jared, Jon, Casey, Heather, Gina, Jamie, James IV, Randy, Eric, Kimberly, Tiffany, Angie, Christopher and Matthew; thirty four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Super and by a sister-in-law, LaRue Charron.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 28 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Joseph Trovato officiating. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. A viewing will be held on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
