Walter E. Counterman, 61, of Lansford, passed away on Thursday, June 8 in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.

He was the husband of Judith (Ahner) Counterman. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in April.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Sarah (Green) Counterman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three brothers, Rueben Counterman of Lansford, Stewart Counterman Sr. of Lehighton, Albert Counterman of Lehighton; two sisters, Diane Lowry of Palmerton, Denise Smale of Bowmanstown; a stepson, Shannon Reeser, and five grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Counterman and Richard Counterman.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 10:00 AM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville with Rev. David Felker officiating. Burial will take place in Skyview Memorial Park in Tamaqua following the service. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
