Virginia A. "Ginny"  Hawk (Kresge)
Virginia A. "Ginny" Hawk, 85, of Kunkletown passed away on Saturday, December 30 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono in East Stroudsburg.

She was the wife of the late Allen Hawk.

Born in Aquashicola, she was a daughter of the late William and Arlene (Eckhart) Kresge.

Ginny had been a Deputy Sheriff in Monroe County for fifteen years and prior to that she had worked in the Register and Recorders Office in Stroudsburg for thirteen years.

She was an EMT with the West End Ambulance where she was also a life member. She was a West End Fair Director for many years and a member of the Chestnut Ridge Senior Citizens in Kunkletown. Ginny served on the Board of Elections in both Monroe and Carbon Counties and she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Monroe County. She served on the Clown Ministry at the former St. Luke's Methodist Church h in McIlhaney and she was one of the founders of the Football Mothers Club at Pleasant Valley.

She was a member of Salem St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kresgeville.

Ginny is survived by four children, Mitchell Hawk and his wife Judy of Winter Haven, FL, Darlene Matthews and her husband John of Dalton, Glenn Hawk and his wife Susan of Conway, SC and Roger Hawk and his wife Margaret of Felton; a sister, Gladys Johnson of Lehighton; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Edgar Matthews Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4 at 12:00 PM from Salem St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville and on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service in the church. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory , Stroudsburg. Interment of Ginny's cremated remains will be in Buena Vista Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
