James Gordon, 69, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Thursday, February 8 in his home.

He was the husband of Judy A. (Southard) Gordon. They celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary in March.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Robert Gordon and the late Elizabeth (McEwan) Gordon.

James worked as a quality control inspector for Automatic Switch in Florham Park, NJ for twenty five years before retiring in 1999.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Whippany, NJ and also a former member of the American Legion in NJ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four stepdaughters, Cheryl Saunders and husband Kevin of Flanders, NJ, Kathy Vizzi and husband John of Stroudsburg, Dawn McCurdy and husband Kenny of Allamuchy, NJ, Nancy Matthews and husband Steve of South River, NJ; a stepson, Timothy Rogers of Bangor; a sister, Elizabeth Guterwill and husband Richard of Long Island, NY; a nephew, Richard Guterwill of Long Island, NY; and eight grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gordon and a stepdaughter, Judith McCurdy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 12:00 PM from the Reeders United Methodist Church. Burial of the ashes will be scheduled on a later date at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
