Margery M. Getz, 92, of Effort and formerly of Kresgeville, passed away on Thursday, May 31 in the Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort.

She was the wife of the late Maurice Getz.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Helen M. (Griffith) Haydt.

A 1944 graduate of Polk Township High School, Margery worked as a seamstress for Better Made Manufacturing in Effort for 22 years and for 22 years at Kresgeville Manufacturing.

She was a member of Salem St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kresgeville.

She is survived by two sisters, Gloria J. Weiss of Snydersville and Dorothea E. Kreger of Stroudsburg and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 6 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating. Burial will follow in Gilbert Cemetery. A closed casket visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
