Russell Michael Johnson Sr., 70, of Sciota, passed away on Sunday, June 3 in the New Eastwood Nursing Home, Easton.

He was the husband of Virgie Ann (Kresge) Johnson. Together for 25 years, they were married on July 2, 2017.

Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Earl and Helen R. (Knitter) Johnson.

Russell worked at Kulps Foundry in East Stroudsburg for twenty years before retiring and prior to that he worked at Ingersoll Rand in Bethlehem for twenty years.

He had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sciota.

Russell was an avid hunter, fisherman, farmer and outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Russell M. Johnson Jr. in Florida; a step-son, Rick Frailey and his wife Mindy of Reeders and their daughter, Rikki Jane; a brother, Martin Johnson and his wife Elsie of Saylorsburg; a sister, Janet Ziegenfus and her husband Brooks of Gilbert and
a grandson Shane Johnson of Wilkes Barre.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 8 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. David Felker officiating. Cremation will follow in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. A viewing will be held on Friday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.
