Michael J. Spece Sr., 77, of Sciota, passed away Friday, June 8 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was the loving husband of Ruth Ann (Michie) Spece. They celebrated 54 years of marriage together.

Born in Kaska, he was the son of the late Joseph Spece and the late Margaret (Margalavage) Spece.

Michael worked as a laborer/supervisor of Mount Hope Rock Products for many years until he retired and moved to Pennsylvania.

He was a true working man, and always made sure his family was taken care of throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael Spece Jr. of Swiftwater, Dave Spece of Fredon, NJ, Mark Spece and wife Tracy of Bartonsville; a brother, Ed Spece and wife Janet of Boca Raton, FL; two sisters, Barbara Bausinger and husband Carl of Long Island, NY, Kathleen Spece of Reading; five grandchildren, Drew, Ryan, Josh, Luke, Daniel; three great grandchildren, Gunnar, Gracelyn, and Gideon.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 30 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 30 from 10:30 until the time of the service.
