Obituary for Adonica Y. Harrison

Adonica “Doni” Yvonne Harrison, nee White, was born to the late Louis and Edna White on July 31, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. At a young age, everyone knew she would be a person that everyone would stand up and take notice of.
Sharing and caring for her younger siblings and cousins was the beginning of how she cultivated the ability to control any and every situation that came her way.
Doni was educated in Brooklyn at Queens Public School. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School. She also attended Hunter College in NYC.
In 1973, Doni met and married Henry Harrison Jr..
She was employed with the Department of Correction, then the Goodwill Association as an Employment Consultant, where she remained until retirement. Adonica had a passion for reading, the art of crochet, and the TV series “M*A*S*H”, and “Star Trek”.
Adonica was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Louis White, and two brothers, Dwayne and Craig White.
Adonica leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband Henry David Harrison Jr., two daughters, Denecia Harrison-Williams, and Monica Harrison-Schwab. Two sons-in-law, Harold W. Williams Jr., and Aaron W. Schwab. Two bonus daughters, Beth Meklune-Betz, and Tori Lomax-Schultz. One Brother Carl Thompson, (and his wife Linda Thompson), sisters Gail Cooper (and her Husband Derrick Cooper), and Rhonda Morton, and two life sisters, Phyllis Washington, and Cheryl Wynn.
Grandsons, Andreas C. Harrison-Gaddist Jr., Harrison Meklune-Betz, and Weston Meklune-Betz. Granddaughters, Seree’ Yvonne Gaddist, Tristan Lomax, and Tailor Lomax-Schultz. One great granddaughter, Ky’Lynn Natalia Veeris.
Nephews, Stanley Gallon Jr., Benjamin Morton V (and wife Fiona Chau-Morton), Keith Morton (and wife Shalawn Morton), Troy Morton (and wife Tina Morton), and Chad Morton. One niece, Morgan Thompson.
Great nephew Devin Morton, and great nieces Tess and Tori Morton.
Four godchildren, Harry McCoy Jr., Lisa Bonner, Joloni Eli, and Vanessa Christiani.
One uncle, Isaiah “Bobby” Hyman, aunts Vivian Fleming, Thelma Anthony, and Carolyn Hyman.
And a host of cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 17 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Mays Sr. officiating. Cremation will follow in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
