Albert W. Decker. 81, of Saylorsburg, passed away Saturday, April 2, in the Gardens for Memory Care at Easton.
He was the loving husband of the late Marguerite (Randazzo) Decker. They celebrated 46 wonderful years of marriage together before her passing in 2008.
Born in South Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late Albert. W. Decker and the late Lydia (Ostermiller) Decker.
Albert was a jack of many trades. He spent several years as a salesman at the Saylorsburg Flea Market. Prior to that, he worked as a machinery repairman at the Clay-Adams Company in Parsippany, NJ, for thirty four years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing, and loved collecting, repairing, and selling trains. He was also an avid wood worker, where he would build cabinets, cradles, rocking chairs, and much more. He volunteered as a police officer during the Watts Riots of 1965. Most of all, he was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
He is survived by two daughters, Denice Decker of Saylorsburg, Debra Marie Potter of Phillipsburg, NJ; a son, Albert W. Decker Jr.; seven grandchildren, Megan Decker, Sarah Kabisch, George Gannon, Jesse Potter, Joseph Decker, Amber Potter, John Freidman; and eight great grandchildren, Donald Francois, Autumn Potter, Bella Haas, Riley Kabisch, Melissa Kabisch, George Gannon Jr., Lilly Kabisch, and Vada Shields. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Ostermiller.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 8 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Felker officiating. Interment will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
