Obituary for Alejandrina Diaz Conde

Alejandrina Diaz Conde, 86, of Stroudsburg, passed away Monday, October 16, at St. Luke's Hospital-Monroe Campus.

She was the loving wife of the late Jaime Calero Cordero.

Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Damaso Diaz and the late Emilia Conde.

Alejandrina was an honorary member of Iglesia Bautista de Puerto Nuevo in San Juan, PR, for many years. She was a dedicated and active member, working in several committees, treasury, and visiting members of the church. She was a wonderfully touching and thoughtful soul, always taking time to help anyone in need. Most of all. she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Velazquez and her husband Erasmo, Nydia Velazquez and her husband Oscar; a sister, Carmen Iris Algarin and her husband Titole; four grandchildren, Erik Davy, Alexander Davy, Abner Vargas, Gadiel Vargas; seven great grandchildren, Anthony Vargas, Ava Vargas, Ariana Vargas, Anabella Vargas, Gabriel Vargas, Cristian Vargas, and Jeremy Vargas. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Francisco Velazquez, a son, Ruben Velazquez, a sister, Ana Luisa Diaz, and a brother, Tito Diaz.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 20, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Pedro Fabian officiating.
