Obituary for Alice M. Getz (Kibler)

Alice M. Getz, 91, of Kunkletown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, May 24 in Getz Personal Care Home, Kunkletown.

She was the loving wife of the late Lawrence G. Getz. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together before Lawrence's passing in 2006.

Born in Penn Forest Township, she was the daughter of the late Clyde L. Kibler and the late Anna (Knappenberger) Kibler.

Alice was the founder of Getz Personal Care Home. She was an avid quilter, gardener, crafter, and baker. She loved and enjoyed being surrounded by her many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family.

She is survived by four sons, Robert Getz and his wife Susan of Jonas, Glen Getz of Jonas, Lawrence Getz II and his wife Tina of Jonas, Barry Getz and his wife Sherry of Dotters Corner; a daughter, Anna Smale and her husband Dennis of Jonas; four sisters, Edna Brong, Nancy Ratajczak and her husband John, Melva McArdle, Gloria Anewalt and her husband K. Larry; eighteen grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Getz, and two brothers, Richard Kibler and Clair Kibler.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Mike Yaworski officiating. Burial will follow in Gilbert Cemetery.
