Obituary for Allen L. Kresge Sr.

Allen L. Kresge Sr., 94, of Saylorsburg, passed away on Wednesday,, December 5 in St. Luke's Hospital-Monroe Campus.

He was the husband of the late Elsie E. (Miller) Kresge.

Born in Saylorsburg, he was a son of the late Arthur L. and Alti (Bonser) Kresge.

Allen was a union carpenter virtually all his life, working for various companies until his retirement in 1987. He was a WW II and Korean War Navy veteran and he took part in the Invasion of Normandy.

He enjoyed gardening and he read his Bible every day.

He is survived by five children, Allen Kresge Jr. of Saylorsburg, David Kresge of Clarks Summit, Judy Branton of Pen Argyl, Jamie Kresge of Kunkletown and Lorie Vogel of Saylorsburg; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Leslie C. Kresge.

A viewing will be held on Monday, December 10 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday with Rev. David Felker officiating. Burial will follow in Gilbert Cemetery.
