Obituary for Carl W. Monn Jr.

Carl W. Monn Jr., 72, of Effort, passed away Sunday, May 1 at home.

He was the loving husband of Elizabeth T. (Williams) Monn. They celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary in November of last year.

Born in South Plainfield, NJ, he was the son of the late Carl W. Monn Sr. and the late Helen (Warsinski) Monn.

Carl spent most of his life in trucking and excavating and owned/operated Carl Monn Trucking and Excavating for many years. He graduated from High Bridge High School in NJ in 1968. He was a member of the Blue Mountain Antique Gas & Steam Engine Association. He had a love for animals and always enjoyed life with his pets and family. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Nicholas Monn of Northampton; two sisters, Linda Thomas and her husband Howard of NJ, Dale Centamore and her husband Paul of Phillipsburg; two brother-in-laws, Walter Williams Jr. and his wife Rose, James Williams; a sister-in-law, Diane Williams and her husband JC Velasquez; nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Renee and her husband Mike, Kate, Grace, Matthew, Nicole, Ellen, Lauren, Kevin, Alana; and grandniece and grandnephew, Rebecca and Ty.

A memorial service will be scheduled on a later date at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
