Obituary for Carol Sue Sheridan - Corbo (Dobbins)

Carol Sue Corbo, 72, of Long Pond, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2023 at home.
She was the loving wife of the late John J. Corbo who was the love of her life and with whom she shared 18 years of marriage.
Born in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of C.B. and Johnese (Rubrecht) Dobbins.
Carol spent her early years in Derby, KS. When she was 11, the family relocated to Media, PA. Then in adulthood, Carol moved to Long Pond, PA where she started her family and lived a full and happy life. During her time in Long Pond, she essentially got to know every resident. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her would likely agree that she was one of the most kind, generous, empathetic and positive humans they ever met. She listened and loved with no judgment and put everyone’s needs and concerns ahead of her own. Quick with a smile or joke, she was helpful and kind, humble and gracious. Carol was a free spirit who understood that the time we have together is short. Carol was devoted to her family and was the best mother and grandmother they could ever have wished for. There are a lot of aching hearts this week and she will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.
Carol was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her son: William “Billy” Sheridan and his wife, Kacie of North Wales; daughters: Erin Fitzgerald and her husband, Derek of Doylestown; Jessica Grouss and her husband, Thomas of Toms River, NJ; and Lisa Corbo of Pottstown; brother: Gary Dobbins and his wife, Ann of Ocean View, NJ; and sister: Jane Boate' and her husband, Ed of Media; grandchildren: Ryan and Connor Grouss; Emma Fitzgerald; and Ava and William "Liam" Sheridan; a brother-in-law, Lenny Corbo and his wife Linda. Carol is also survived by her dear, long-time friends, Dave Weber and Jamie Storm. Carol is preceded in death by her daughter, Lorraine Corbo.
Carol is also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews and countless other family members and friends that absolutely meant the world to her.
The family plans to spread Carol and John’s ashes at their cabin, which was their favorite place and the site of their wedding.
Cremation is entrusted to H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
