Obituary for Catherine Austin Morris (Valentine)
Retired Elementary school teacher Mrs. Catherine Austin Morris, 76, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, quietly in her sleep at her home in Kunkletown, PA.
She was born Catherine Valentine on August 16, 1944 at Mountainside Hospital in Glenridge, NJ. She was the youngest of ten siblings and is survived by her loving sister, Geraldine Washington.
Catherine could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University and started teaching Elementary school because she loved to help mold young minds. She retired to Toms River, NJ, but quickly sold and moved to Kunkletown.
In addititon to her sister, Geraldine, she is survived by four children and seven grandchildren; Geraldine Lockhart and her daughter Kyra, and son Kyhiel Lockhart; Victor B. Mattaur and his three daughters, Dr. Jane Bryant, Schylar Mattaur, and Siobhan Mattaur; Gary H. Mattaur and his daughter Jasmin, and son Elijah Mattaur; and Carson Austin Jr.
A viewing for a small group of immediate family will be held on Saturday, January 23 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM from the William H. Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, PA 18322. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, 400 Orange Road, Montclair, NJ 07042.
