Obituary for Claude Monroe Schaller

Claude M. Schaller, 84, of Tannersville, passed away Friday, April 16 in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the loving son of the late John Schaller and the late Anna (Snyder) Schaller.

Claude was a Vietnam US Army Veteran. He worked as a printer for a printing press in New Jersey for several years. After that, he was head of maintenance at Pocono Summit Resort and Birchwood Resort in Tannersville for many years. He built and collected model cars, and enjoyed watching movies. He also had a great sense of humor. He loved family picnics and spending time with his friends and family. Most of all, he was a caring and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.

He is survived by a son, Steven Schaller and his wife Monica of Stroudsburg; two daughters, Karen Rebagliati of Stroudsburg, Dianne Svopa and her husband Bobby of East Stroudsburg; a brother, Charlie Schaller of Cherry Valley; his ex-wife and friend, Gloria DeBoer; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Caroleanne, Kathryn, Brandon, Peter, Autumn, Jacob; and four great grandchildren, Charles, Jaxson, Charles, and Peter Jr. He was also survived by his dear friend Helen Coco. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Schubert, and two brothers, Paul and Robert Schaller.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 22 starting at 2:00 PM at 239 Pensyl Creek Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
