Obituary for Dalen G. "Dale" Meixsell

Dalen G. "Dale" Meixsell, 92, of Saylorsburg, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021.

He was the husband of Gladys Meixsell with whom he shared 72 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Elwood and Dorothy (Kindrew) Meixsell. He was a member of St. Matthew's Church in Kunkletown.

Dale was a truck driver for many years. He was employed by PennDot, Moore Trucking, Richard Frantz Trucking, and Chemical Leaman at his retirement in 1994. He drove many miles and received an award for driving 250,000 miles with no incidents. He didn't need a GPS and could tell you how to get anywhere you needed to go with no hesitation. He owned and operated a car repair business in Kunkletown for many years. He was also a go-to guy in the area for tractor repairs. He loved farming with his family and raising animals. He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife Gladys, a son, Ricky Meixsell and wife Amy of Saylorsburg, a daughter, Nadine Scheller and husband Kim of Saylorsburg. He has five grandchildren, Brent Meixsell and his wife Amanda of York, Blair Meixsell and his wife Michelle of Saylorsburg, Briar Gould and her husband Matt of Brodheadsville, Zack Scheller and his wife Alexis of Effort, and Mallory Scheller of Freemansburg. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren which he adored, Bryce Meixsell, Reagan Meixsell, Grant, Rhett, and Kent Gould, and Annabella Scheller. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Kay Frable of Kunkletown and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger and a brother, Carl.

Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew's U.C.C., 102 Church Rd., Kunkletown, PA 18058.
