Obituary for Debra Ann Conklin

Debra Ann Conklin, 68, of Bangor, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital on Friday, April 19, 2024.

She was born in East Stroudsburg on October 29, 1955 to David E. and Myra Conklin.

She was a graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and Monroe County Vo-tech for culinary. She worked many years babysitting at her home. She drove the school bus for Byram Bus Line and also worked at M&M Mars.

She met the love of her life, David Conklin, while they were teenagers. They married in 1974 and had two beautiful sons together.

Debra was a devout Catholic. She attended church when she was able at St. Michaels in Stanhope, NJ.

Debra will always be remembered for her sense of humor, the immense love that she had for everyone, and her love for music, singing, and writing songs. We could not have asked for a better daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and/or friend. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents David E. and Myra Conklin, her son, Brian Conklin, her brother, James Conklin, and sister, Mary Lou Sphar and her husband Harold.

Debbie is survived by her husband David Conklin of Bangor, her son, David Conklin and his wife Randi of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; her sisters, Cindy Schollhammer and her husband Henry of Bangor, Donna Strohl, wife of Michael Strohl, of Kunkletown; brothers David E. Conklin Jr. and his wife Lisa of Gilbert, Stanley Conklin and his wife Barbara of Kunkletown; as well as many nieces and nephews, a great-great niece, and a great-great nephew.


A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Robert Simon officiating. Interment of the ashes will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.

Even in death, Debbie was able help others and gift her corneas to SightLife.
