Obituary for Ella L. Hilliard

Ella Louise Hilliard, was born in Inwood, New York to the late Luby Hilliard and Mary Lina Hilliard Weston, on May 24, 1947. She is survived by her loving daughter Nicole Dixon-Betancourt and her only grandson, Myles Betancourt, who she loved dearly.

Ella, fulfilled her Heavenly Father's duties on earth on Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was summoned home to the loving arms of the Heavenly Father. We are all heartbroken because Ella will no longer be with us. However, we take solace in knowing that Ella is in God's hands, where there is comfort and rest, no pain or suffering.

After graduating school Ella worked and started to build a life for herself. She met and fell in love with Norman Dixon, with whom she built a life with. Ella's dreams came true when she gave birth to their baby girl, Nicole. From the beginning Ella and Nicole established the most inseparable mother and daughter relationship and became best friends. It was very rare that you saw one without the other and their closeness was a testimony for all to see.

Ella was a travel agent for over 25 years and has traveled all over the world. She also worked as a Court Clerk in the Foster Care Division of the Manhattan Family Court for 17 years, where she retired at the age of 67 in 2014.

God is love and God's love was expressed through Ella. Ella displayed kindness to all, as well as generosity towards her family through her compassionate and sweet spirit. Ella was extraordinarily creative and a joy to be around. You could feel the loving Spirit within her.

Left to mourn Ella's passing are her siblings: Robert Hilliard and close friend (like a sibling) Ernesto Robinson (who preceded her in death), Larry Chiles, Chris Smith, Thomas Hilliard, Phyllis Minor, Mordicie Hilliard, Gregory Hilliard, Dwayne Hilliard, Insha Hilliard, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 18 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mountain Top Christian Community Church, 150 Pilgrim Way, Brodheadsville, PA 18322. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, is in charge of the arrangements.
