Obituary for Elmer L. Leap Jr.
Elmer L. Leap Jr., 63, of Brodheadsville, passed away Friday, April 5, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
He was the loving husband of Sherrill (Snyder) Leap. They recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary in March.
Born in Lehighton, he was the son of Norma (Willet) Leap and the late Elmer L. Leap Sr.
Elmer was a custodian for Stroudsburg Area School District for twenty seven years. He was also the groundskeeper for Cherry Valley United Methodist Church and Snydersville Raceway for many years. He was very active in his church and racing. Elmer enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, mowing, fishing, He was also an organ donor. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons, Joshua Leap and his companion Erin LaBar, Jason Leap and his wife Sarah, Bobby Wills and his wife Kristin; a daughter, Sarah Wills and her companion Christopher Handelong; two brothers, Wayne Leap and his wife Marilyn, Earl Leap and his wife Laurie; three sisters, Carolyn Bright and her husband Joseph, Doris Masten and her husband Robert Jr., Helen Stephens and her husband Charles; nine grandchildren, Dylan and his wife Emily, Hailey, Izzy, Gabriel, Logan, Stephanie, Kylie, Kara, Levi; one great grandchild, Margot; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Leap; his beloved horse, Bucky, and many other loving relatives. Along with his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald E. Leap Sr.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Memorial services will follow at 7:30 PM with Rev. Paul Crikelair officiating. Interment of the ashes will be held on Thursday, April 11, at 11:00 AM in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
