Obituary for Elsie Sinclair Shoemaker (Campbell)

Elsie Sinclair (Campbell) Shoemaker, 101, who spent several years in Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home, passed away Saturday, December 1 in Brookmont Healthcare Center, Effort.

She was the loving wife of the late Robert M Shoemaker. They were married on September 10, 1955 and celebrated fourteen years of marriage together before Robert's passing in 1969.

Born in West Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William Campbell and the late Marjorie (Browne) Campbell.

She was a former member of the St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Belvidere, NJ. Prior to that, she was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Bound Brook NJ.

Elsie was a graduate of Fanwood-Scotch Plains High School. She was a former secretary for the Somerset/Hunterdon Women's Bowling Association. She was also a former member of the Bound Brook Mixed Bowling League for over forty years, and eventually met her husband Robert during her time with the league. Elsie was also very proud to participate as a poll worker for the Somerset County Board of Election.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan M. Seitzinger of Lebanon, NJ, Gail E. Bowman and her husband Robert of Effort; two grandchildren, Robert Bowman of Olyphant, PA, Matthew Bowman and wife Rachael of Effort; three great grandchildren, Daytona Bowman, Gauge Bowman and Jaxson Bowman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William C. Campbell, and Col. Robert H. Campbell Ret.

A graveside service will be scheduled this week at the convenience of the family in Bound Brook Cemetery. Kresge Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
