Obituary for Evelyn J. Steinig (Zirngible)
Evelyn J. Steinig, 96, of Stroudsburg, passed away Thursday, August 22 in Pleasant Valley Manor, Stroudsburg.
She was the loving wife of the late Otto Steinig.
Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Frank Zirngible and the late Clara (Clingingpeel) Zirngible.
Evelyn was a receptionist at Dr. Ciuzio's office in Brooklyn NY, for over twenty five years before retiring in 1994.
She was a World War II Navy Veteran, and was part of the first women to enter into the Navy at the time. She was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert. She will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Farrell and her husband Peter of Stroudsburg; two grandchildren, Matthew Ferry, Lauren Lopez and her husband Edward; and four great grandchildren, Nate Ferry, Tim Ferry, Alyssa Lopez and A.J. Lopez. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Ferry.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2158 N. Main Ave., Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
