Florence Bernice Frantz, 96, of Brodheadsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, in Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort.
Born October 5, 1925 in Ridgewood, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Heiney) Conklin.
Florence was married to the love of her life, Albert on November 14, 1942. Together they were potato farmers and ran their Agway store on their property for over 50 years.
Florence enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to Florida during the winter with her husband, going to the casino and cooking, canning and baking in her earlier years.
She was a member of the Effort United Methodist Church.
Surviving are children, Richard and Beverly Frantz and William and Judy Frantz; grandchildren, Kelly Frantz, Curtis Frantz, Randy and Lynette Frantz, Kyle Frantz, Jason and Melanie Frantz, Aimee Keyes, Jamie and Lisa Keyes, Michael Keyes-Bowman and Ryan Bowman and Jennifer Keyes; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She remained close to her surviving sister, Hazel Donchez and her surviving brother Allen "Gump" Conklin. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Keyes, a grandchild, Kim Frantz, sisters Mary Evans and Gladys Padgett and brothers, Matthew Conklin, David Conklin and Donald Conklin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 21 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, PA with Rev. Suzanne Brooks-Cope officiating. Burial will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
