Obituary for Harry H. Miller

Harry H. Miller, 91, of Topton, passed away Monday, September 12, in The Lutheran Home at Topton.

He was the loving husband of Regina C. (Peckis) Miller. They celebrated many wonderful years of marriage together before her passing in 2002.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas Eckstein and the late Minnie (Weinrich) Eckstein.

Harry was a Korean War Army Veteran. He worked as an animal caretaker at Salk Institute in Swiftwater for over twenty years. He enjoyed antiquing and cooking, and in his younger years he would make delicious homemade wine. He loved his surviving dog, Hans, and spending time with his family. Most of all, he was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

He is survived by six daughters, Ann Martinez of Stroudsburg, Theresa Correa and her husband Carlos of Pen Argyl, Laura Haney and her husband Dan of Topton, Christina Mader and her husband William of Cresco, Carrie Miller of Topton, Crystal Balaban and her husband Paul of Allentown; three grandchildren, Jessica Marshall and her husband Tom, Andrew and Austin Loring; and two great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Marie Miller, a son, Daniel Miller, a grandson, Jonathan Martinez, and two sisters, Margie Daniels and Dolores Angevine.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 19 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 PM with Rev. Dave Felker officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
