Obituary for Herbert W. Ziegler Jr.

Herbert W. Ziegler Jr., 76, of Stroudsburg, passed away in his home on Monday, January 17.

He was the loving husband of Therese C. (Day) Ziegler.

Born in Cleveland, OH he was a son of the late Herbert W. Ziegler Sr. and the late Ann E. (Begalla) Ziegler.

A very accomplished person, Herbert worked as an instructor at the Tobyhanna Army Depot for thirty years. Prior to that, he had worked as a stevedore in the trucking industry in Ohio.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Severn. A true outdoorsman, he was an excellent archer and an NRA Instructor. He also liked motorcycles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Herbert W. Ziegler III of Effort and a sister, Marcia Taylor in Ohio.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 24 at 7:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Deacon Robert O'Connor officiating. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg. Herbert will be interred with military honors on Friday, January 28 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service..
