Obituary for Hurmie O. Thorne (Todd)
Hurmie O. Thorne, 94, of Albrightsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 16 in St. Luke's Hospital, Monroe Campus.
She was the wife of the late Robert L. Thorne.
Born in Ayshire, IN, but growing up in Flint, MI, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Corine (McDowell) Todd.
Hurmie loved spending time with her sons and her grandchildren. She loved summers at home on Martha's Vineyard, doing jigsaw puzzles and the several book clubs she belonged to. She had many friends and enjoyed socializing and entertaining. She was a great homemaker, wife and mother.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Thorne and his wife Judy of Detroit, MI, Ronald Thorne and his wife Shawn of Hempstead, NY and Gary Thorne and his wife Sherrill of Albrightsville; a sister, Virginia Williams of Flint, MI; six grandchildren, Eric Thorne and his wife Tiffany of Washington DC, Aimee Dickerson and her husband Obie of Miami, FL, Alexa and Jada Thorne and Mone't and Adrienne Thorne and two great grandchildren, Aymen and Amani.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 12:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Pastor James Richards officiating. Cremation will have taken place in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
