Obituary for Irene H. Decker (Crawn)

Irene H. Decker, 91, of Saylorsburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 21 at home.

She was the loving wife of Floyd E. Decker. They were married on October 12, 1958 and spent 63 wonderful years of marriage together.

Born in Newton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Crawn and the late Laura (Fritz) Crawn.

Irene loved taking walks, cooking, and always enjoyed talking to everyone she met. Her favorite saying was, "It's just down the road a piece." Most of all, she was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

In addition to her husband, Irene is survived by her daughters: Violet Sollitto and her husband Bernie of Jonas; Christine Hansen and her husband Chris of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren: Jessica and her husband Wayne , Bernie and his partner Nina Gillen, Michael and his partner Jennifer Feller, Crystal, and Jonathan; and 8 great-grandchildren: Skyler, Autumn, Julia, Lilly, Chole, Eric, Elizabeth, and Quinn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 28 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Rt 209, Brodheadsville, followed by a graveside service at 12:15 PM in Tranquility Cemetery, 17-19 Maple Andover, NJ 07821.
