Obituary for James M. Keiper Sr.

James M. Keiper Sr., 87, of Pocono Lake, passed away Sunday, April 2 at home, with his family by his side.

He was the loving husband of Alice A. (Rowe) Keiper. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in March of this year.

Born in Pocono Lake, he was the son of the late Leroy Keiper and the late Helen (Stout) Keiper.

James was the owner/operator of his carpentry business for many years. He was an avid hunter and a great storyteller. He also enjoyed farming, raising and butchering animals, and making an array of delicious foods for his family and friends. James was the kind of person who would help anyone in need. Most of all, he was a wonderfully loving and caring, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James M. Keiper Jr. and his wife Karen of Saylorsburg, Kelly L. Keiper and his wife Mary of Pocono Lake; two daughters, Rose Ann Keiper-Singer of Pocono Summit, Lisa Ann Keiper-Knecht and her significant other James Bicking of Pocono Lake; a sister, Jane Fisk of Cresco; ten grandchildren, Bill, Matthew, Gail, Donna, Austin, Rebecca, Travis, Dorie, Beth, Devin; six great grandchildren, Floyd, Camron, Billy, Jerry, Menia, Neldon; seven great great grandchildren, Ivory, Bella, Christopher, Lilly, Norma, Rodney, Joyce; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Keiper, and eight brothers and sisters.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
