Obituary for Jeanne Ann Kostenbader (Frankenfield)

Jeanne Ann Kostenbader, 78, of Saylorsburg, passed away Monday, October 10, in St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson Campus, with her family by her side.

She was the loving wife of the late Roger E. Kostenbader. They spent 43 wonderful years of marriage together before his passing in 2007.

Born in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Jesse J. Frankenfield and the late Adele Mae (Hunt) Frankenfield.

Jean graduated from Easton High School in 1962 and married Roger in 1964. She worked several jobs throughout the years: Mac Printing in Easton, Valerie Fashions, Gracedale Nursing Home, Monroe County Tax Assessor, and assisted her husband owning and operating RJK autobody shop since 1964. She was a member of Mt. Eaton Church since 1964, but had recently been unable to attend due to illness.

Jean loved watching the Eagles, college football, golf, NASCAR races, Dancing with the Stars, and General Hospital. Throughout the years she traveled all over the U.S. and recently visited family in Tennessee for a wedding. She also visited the Grand Ole Opry during her stay there. She loved to write short stories and poems, and enjoyed singing with her daughters at Karaoke. She sang in the choir at Mt. Eaton Church many years ago. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, instilling wisdom and positivity, and encouraging them to further their education and be good human beings. Most of all, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Kurt Kostenbader; three daughters, Kelly Zimmerman and her husband John, Kandy Kostenbader, Kristy Raab and her husband Doug; a sister, Eileen Warkala and her husband Glenn; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Tiffany, Trisha, Tyler, Kristina, Scott, Lars, Samuel, Kristen; six great grandchildren, Aubrie, Paul, Jackson, Evelyn, Alice, Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Kostenbader, and a sister, Shirley Yeager.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 14 at 5:00 PM from the Mt. Eaton Church in Saylorsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
