Obituary for Joan C. Cetnar (Howell)

Joan C. Cetnar, 85, of Bellefonte, PA, passed away on Monday, May 24 in CentreCare Nursing Home, Bellefonte, PA.

She was the loving wife of the late William I. Cetnar.

Born at home in Saylorsburg, she was the daughter of the late Carl Howell and the late Naomi (Kimmel) Howell.

Joan was a member of Middlecreek Christian Church in Kresgeville. She was very involved in the church and loved her bible studies. She was also a Sunday School teacher and a member of the church choir. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed helping out at her son, Lyle's farm. She also loved taking trips to the Monroe County Old-Timers Farmers Market. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family.

She is survived by three sons, Robin Cetnar and his wife Joy of Butler, PA, Lyle Cetnar and his wife Marcy of Kunkletown, Phillip Cetnar and his wife Priscilla of Bellefonte, PA; a daughter, Lorna Rutcosky and her husband Richard of Lehighton; a sister, Marion Hilborn of Saylorsburg; twelve grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Timothy.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 31 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Middlecreek Christian Church in Kresgeville. Church services will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeremy Woodhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Gilbert Cemetery.
