Joann Ethel (Grznar) Hachemeister, 70, of Cresco, had passed peacefully with the help of Brookmont Healthcare Center and St. Luke's Hospice from the loathsome disease of Lung Cancer on May 11th, 2019.
Born in Yonkers, NY, raised in Mahopac, NY, she was the loving daughter of the late Michael Grznar Sr. and the late Ethel (Bechtold) Grznar.
Joann was a graduate of Mahopac High School in 1969. She then worked nineteen years as an assembly technician and shop steward for Teamsters Local Union 773 at Hayward Laboratories in East Stroudsburg, where she recently retired in February 2019.
Joann's hobbies included time with family and friends, crafting, bowling, knitting, crocheting, and collecting teddy bears and owls.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas Hachemeister Jr., William Hachemeister and his wife Susan (Hedgelon), Charles Hachemeister and his wife Janene (Fischer); a daughter, Ruthann (Hachemeister) Hart and her husband Kip; two grandchildren, William Hart, Hope Hachemeister and her fiancé John Smith; two step grandchildren, Robert and Colin Snyder; and two great grandchildren, Charlette Aber and Layla Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruthann Grznar and her former husband, Thomas Hachemeister Sr.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 PM with Rev. Dave Felker officiating. Burial of the ashes will be scheduled on a later date at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to send donations to the American Cancer Society, 2158 N. Main Ave., Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with hopes of comfort and cure for others.
