Obituary for John Edward Blick Jr.
John E. Blick Jr., 73, of Saylorsburg, passed away Friday, February 4, at home.
He was the loving husband of Elizabeth C. (Gullo) Blick. They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in June of last year.
Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, he was the son of the late John E. Blick Sr. and the late Gertrude E. (Huffer) Blick.
John graduated from Blair Academy in Blairstown, NJ, and later graduated from Boston University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting & Film. He worked as a health and zoning codes officer for the Borough of East Stroudsburg for over thirty years. Prior to that, he was a Superintendent for the Sewage Treatment Plant of Springfield, VT. He was loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, John Blick and his wife Alicia of Hanover Twp., Bill Mackey and his wife Jen of Olyphant, Pete Mackey and his wife Brenda of Saylorsburg, Tim Mackey and his wife Stacey of Lake Tahoe, CA, James Blick of Saylorsburg; a brother, Doug Blick of his wife Carolyn of NC; and six grandchildren, Abby, Amelia, Annabelle, Madelyn, Silas, and Willarose.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 11 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Dave Felker officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Blairstown.
