Obituary for Joyce E. Smith (Smale)
Joyce E. Smith, 95, of Kresgeville, passed away on Wednesday, May 31 in her home.
She was the loving wife of the late Amandus F. Smith. They had been married for seventy two years before his passing in 2019.
Born in Kresgeville, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Mary (Anthony) Smale.
She had worked at Scotty's Fashions in Kresgeville for over forty five years.
Joyce was a long-time member of Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert and also a member of the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons, Donald Smith and his wife Phyllis of Parryville, Calvin Smith of Gilbert and Carl Smith and his wife Anna of Palmerton; two sisters, Luella Brown of Allentown and Grace Behler of Palmerton; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services in Gilbert Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
