Obituary for June Marie Mellott (Brunner)

June Marie Mellott, 89, of Stroudsburg and also of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away on Friday, March 10 in her home.

She was the loving wife of the late Bernard Long Mellott. They had celebrated 45 years of marriage before his passing in 1999.

Born in Montclair, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Stanford and Catherine (Gannon) Brunner.

She received her Masters Degree in Nursing Science from Jersey City State College and she worked as a school nurse for forty years at Boystown in Kearny, NJ and the Clifton, NJ school systems.

She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Parsippany, NJ where she sang on the church choir for sixty years. She was also a Carmelite 3rd Order Nun.

In her spare time, June enjoyed singing, crocheting, word find books, helping others, the shore and nature. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by five children, Ann Marie Harcher and her husband John, Susan Mellott, Diane Mellott, Michael Mellott and Jacqueline Mellott-Grajera and her husband Joseph; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Casella and her husband Mark and by a son, Robert Mellott.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 20 from St. Peter the Apostle Church, 179 Baldwin Road, Parsippany, NJ with Rev. David Pickens officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, is in charge of arrangements.
